When bloodied Sacred Ground is Shattered: Two Disturbing Acts of Intolerance…
Two recent incidents—one in a quiet Lebanese village, the other at the holiest site in Judaism—send a deeply troubling message about the state of religious coexistence in the region.
In southern Lebanon, a photograph shows an IDF soldier using a sledgehammer to strike the head of a statue of a crucified Jesus that had fallen from its cross. The statue stood on a crucifix outside a family home on the edge of Debel, one of the few villages where residents have remained during the conflict.
