While I maintain neutrality regarding the combatants, I cannot and will not remain silent about human suffering. The numbers coming out of Iran are staggering and heartbreaking:
At least 1,332 civilians killed since the US-Israeli strikes began on February 28…
Approximately 300 children among the dead…
More than 165 students and teachers killed in a single strike on a primary school in Minab—children aged 7 to 12…
7,943 homes, 1,617 commercial sites, 32 health centers, and 65 schools damaged or destroyed…
These are not military targets. These are homes where families broke bread together. These are schools where children learned to read and write. These are hospitals where the sick sought healing. The thick, choking black smoke that now hangs over Tehran—from strikes on fuel depots that release "hazardous materials and toxic substances into the air, poisoning INMOVENT IRANIAN civilians, devastating the environment, and endangering lives on a massive scale" —this smoke does not distinguish between combatant and civilian. It settles into the lungs of everyone.
To the Iranian people I have this to say; I see your suffering and agony under American and Israeli bombardment! I see your brave mothers burying their children. I see the families huddled in whatever shelter they can find as American and Israeli bombs continue to fall. I see a nation that, just weeks ago, was engaged in diplomatic negotiations, now plunged into a war that has already cost billions in munitions and countless lives….
I am also aware that Anerican Mussolini Donald Trump has expressed disappointment with your choice of leader and has spoken of continuing the campaign until "the war is very complete.” I am also are aware that Israeli Fascist leaders have threatened to strike your new Leader and I am aware that your valiant brave Iranian officials have refused to surrender to the will of American Fourth Reich, and have vowed that they "will determine the end of the war" and I commend them for their bravery because I wouldn’t be caught dead surrendering to bombardment of any enemies!
From my neutral vantage point, I offer only this: may wisdom prevail over wrath. May the innocent be spared. May the diplomatic off-ramps that once existed be rediscovered!
